I came to meditation a few years ago, and it has been an ongoing practice for me since. I could write at length about the ways it has helped me, but I recommend starting your own practice and discovering that for yourself.
There are wonderful books out there to help guide you, but if you are seeking an introduction and accountability, developers have embraced meditation apps.
My favorite by far is Headspace. The meditation "packs" are thoughtful and relevant. The UI is also delightful and makes the app a pleasure to use and seamlessly integrate into your day.
